Description
Ohemaa. Queen. In Twi — the language of the Akan people of Ghana.
We named this jacket after royalty because the fabric demanded it: deep crimson damask with gold and cream peacock feathers woven through. Heavy, ceremonial, completely unapologetic.
Wear OHEMAA to the opening, the protest, the first date, the dinner where your presence matters. This fabric crossed an ocean, was found at Kantamanto market in Accra, and was remade by our tailors in Aburi into the most powerful jacket in this collection.
Oversized bomber silhouette. Black ribbed collar, black ribbed cuffs, black ribbed hem band. Centre zip. Two welt pockets.
Historically, not everyone was let into the room. Wear this one in.
OHEMAA is a conscious act: naming a garment after queenship — in Ghanaian language — on a piece crafted by Ghanaian hands. Culture and craft as resistance.
The fabric of OHEMAA is a deep crimson and dark burgundy damask with an intricate peacock-feather pattern woven in gold and cream — heavy, dense, and richly patterned. This was likely a ceremonial or very formal European curtain. At Kantamanto market in Accra, it became royalty reclaimed. The surface has weight and intention in every thread.
🚚 Ships from 29 May · Handmade to order in Aburi, Ghana.
